How Can I Serve In The Church and What Does it Take to Become a Leader?
There is a difference in being a LEADER and Serving at Tampa Bay Christian Center.
TO SERVE:
We believe all members are called to serve the local body they belong to, and all are encouraged to find a place to serve the house of God.
Whether it is simply greeting at the door, helping to prepare and serve communiion or assisting in areas of ministry, everyone can and should play a part in our local Body.
There is no requirement, you can be a regular attender or even for some areas a first or second time guest to volunteer your time and talent with us.
TO LEAD:
Being a LEADER is a different situation and does have some basic requirements.
1) You must be a MEMBER (having completed the membership classes)
2) You must be a maturing believer (not newly saved, a Tither, already serving regularly, faithful in attendance, no outright rebellious sin)
3) Must have gone through the Leadership Class Track @ TBCC
4) A few positions may require certification or degree
5) Certain positions may require background or credit checks
God takes leadership very seriously, therefor we also take leadership and the integrity of leaders very seriously.
We believe that we must do all that we possibly can to ensure that Gods sheep are tended to carefully and faithfully.
We do not allow just anyone to enter into a leadership position without allowing them to show their faithfulness – no matter how “talented” they may be.
We have a responsibility to be faithful and operate with excellence and integrity in Gods kingdom.
Jas 3:1 My friends, we should not all try to become teachers. In fact, teachers will be judged more strictly than others.
Therefore, any member of TBCC can be assured that all those who are leaders at TBCC, from the Head Pastor on down, are held accountable to God’s Biblical Standards.
It is a wonderful thing to feel called to the privilege of leadership in God’s Kingdom.
We encourage you to make an appointment to speak with Pastor Moe about your desire to serve the body.
